This new pop-up shop in Soho is actually a Marks & Spencer menswear boutique in disguise

Taking the name ‘Mike & Tom’s’, M&S’ latest London-based hub is demonstrating the forward-thinking ethos of a trustworthy brand. Here’s all you need to know...

If you work in Central London, it's likely you pass through Soho from time to time. For us, it's pretty much every day – a stone's throw away from the GQ headquarters, our daily commute involves eyeing up the hotspots in the capital's most bustling hub. Our most recent discovery? A menswear pop-up shop called “Mike & Tom’s”, which, as revealed today, is a Marks & Spencer outlet in hiding.

Mike & Tom’s has been selling itself as "new menswear from an old friend". That does ring true: taking the forenames of the brand's founders (Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer), the quirky little boutique is a fresh gateway into the latest looks from M&S. The point is to demonstrate the brand's super-modern and versatile wardrobe, offering early access to a selection of new-season styles such as like sweatshirts, cord shackets, check tailoring and wool caps.

Wes Taylor, director of menswear at M&S, says, “Mike & Tom’s demonstrates the direction of menswear at Marks & Spencer – more stylish, more contemporary, better fitting, but always great value and always great quality. We want to see more men giving M&S a try this autumn/winter and seeing us as a brand for them. Men are more style conscious and want more from their wardrobe than ever before, and we’re really looking forward to hearing our customers’ feedback.”

Should you be in search of some fresh autumn attire, this might just be the store your wardrobe needs. M&S isn't just about that fine food selection – take a detour from Oxford Street after work to see why.

Mike & Tom’s is open until Saturday 28 September at 15 Bateman Street, London W1.
